Inside Our Bohemian Bistro: The Dining Room on 2nd Street

Guests often tell us the room is the first thing they notice. La Creperie Cafe calls itself a Bohemian Bistro and Bar, and the dining room on 2nd Street was designed to feel like an evening in an old Paris cafe rather than a quick stop for lunch.

 

Chandeliers, velvet and gold

 

Crystal chandeliers hang from the wood beamed ceiling. Exposed brick walls are lined with tall gilded mirrors framed by deep red drapes, and the seating mixes cafe chairs with plush patterned banquettes. A grand piano sits near the windows and gets played on live music nights from Thursday to Saturday.

 

 

The Paris mural and the bar

 

Along the bar, a hand painted mural turns the wall into a Paris street, complete with red awnings, a hotel facade, a vintage cabaret poster, and a night sky over the rooftops. Small round tables with red cloths sit in front of it. The bar shelves hold the wines we pour by the glass and by the bottle.

 

Inside or on the patio

 

If the weather is nice, our sidewalk patio on 2nd Street is a relaxed spot for breakfast and people watching. For birthdays, anniversaries, and dinner with a group, the main room is the better choice. Larger parties should call ahead at (562) 434-8499 so we can set up the right table.

 

Bringing the family

 

Kids are welcome, and children 12 and under can order from their own menu. The Breakfast Connection is a kid sized crepe with scrambled eggs, ham, and mozzarella, served until 3pm. The Happy Face crepe comes with strawberry or banana and chocolate, or with butter and cinnamon sugar. There is also a pressed ham and cheese sandwich or crepe with fries, and plain pasta with butter, marinara, or alfredo sauce.
