Live Music Nights at La Creperie Cafe in Belmont Shore

Live music Thursday, Friday and Saturday at La Creperie Cafe

Our dining room on 2nd Street has a grand piano near the windows, and from Thursday to Saturday it gets put to work. Live music is part of the weekend at La Creperie Cafe, with local musicians playing while guests eat dinner, share dessert, and linger over a glass of wine.

What the music is like

The sets are acoustic and kept at a level where you can still hold a conversation. Expect piano, guitar, and upright bass, with a mix of jazz standards, French cafe songs, and Latin rhythms. The goal is the feel of a small Paris bistro on a busy evening, not a concert. Couples on a date and families with kids sit side by side, and nobody has to shout to be heard.

Take a look at the room and past performances in our photo gallery.

When to arrive

Weekend evenings are the busiest time of the week. If you want a table near the music, arrive early in the evening or call ahead at (562) 434-8499. Dinner is served from 3pm and the kitchen stays open until 8pm, so an early dinner followed by dessert during the music is an easy way to plan the night.

Street parking along 2nd Street and the nearby residential blocks fills up on weekends. Leave a few extra minutes to find a spot, or walk over if you are already in Belmont Shore.

What to order on a music night

Sharing plates suit a long evening. Start with escargot in garlic butter, the calamari, or a basket of our garlic French fries. Then order savory crepes for the table, such as the Parisian or the Au Bon Curry, so everyone can try a little of each.

Finish with a sweet crepe while the band plays. The Martinique, with bananas flambeed in dark rum and vanilla ice cream, is a favorite for sharing. Full details are on our dinner menu and dessert menu.

Planning a group or a celebration

Birthdays and anniversaries are common on music nights. For larger parties, call ahead so we can set up the right table. If you would rather bring the crepes to your own event, see our catering options.
