Wine and Crepes: Simple Pairings from Our Menu
Blog / Published September 17, 2026 by La Creperie Cafe

French cooking and French wine grew up together, and a glass of wine is part of a crepe dinner for many of our guests. Our wine list includes reds, whites, and sparkling options by the glass and by the bottle. Bottle offers change from time to time, so check our specials page or ask your server what is featured this week.
You do not need to know much about wine to order well. The pairings below are the ones our staff suggest most often, based on what is inside the crepe.
White wine with cream sauces and seafood
Several of our savory crepes are finished with a cream sauce. The French Riviera uses a sherry cream sauce with chicken, artichoke hearts, and tomato. The Al Mare brings shrimp, wild mushrooms, and a lobster basil cream sauce. A crisp white with good acidity cuts through that richness and keeps each bite fresh.
Le Saumon, with smoked and fresh salmon, capers, and dill in a white wine cream sauce, is another natural match for a dry white. The Salmon Salad Nicoise on our lunch menu works the same way.
Red wine with heartier plates
Crepes with smoky, spicy, or meaty fillings can stand up to a red. The Jambalaya crepe combines andouille sausage, shrimp, and chicken in a spicy sauce, and a fruity red balances the heat. The Crepe Carbonara, with smoked bacon and parmesan, also pairs well with a medium bodied red.
If you are ordering from the entree side of our dinner menu, a fuller red is a safe choice with any steak or beef dish.
Sparkling wine with dessert
Sweet crepes and sparkling wine are a classic French combination. A glass of bubbles next to a Crepe Suzette or a simple Bolero with lemon and sugar makes a light ending to dinner. Chocolate and Nutella crepes are richer, so they pair better with coffee or a dessert wine if one is available.
Make a night of it
Dinner is served from 3pm, Wednesday through Sunday. Order a few savory crepes to share, choose a bottle for the table, and finish with something from our dessert menu.
