Belgian Waffles at La Creperie Cafe: Four Ways to Order

Crepes are in our name, but a good number of breakfast orders at our cafe on 2nd Street are for Belgian waffles. They come off the iron golden and crisp on the outside, light inside, with deep pockets that hold syrup, fruit, and cream. We serve four versions, and each one makes a different kind of morning.

The Breakfast Waffle

This is the savory pick. The waffle is topped with scrambled eggs, Jambon de Paris, and cheddar jack cheese, then finished with sour cream. It eats like a full plate of eggs and ham, with the waffle doing the job of toast. Guests who want something filling before a long day often choose this one.

The Strawberry Waffle

Fresh strawberries and whipped cream, with your choice of maple syrup or Nutella. Maple keeps it classic and lighter. Nutella turns it into something closer to dessert. It is the most ordered waffle among kids, and plenty of adults order it too.

The Martinique Waffle

Named after the French Caribbean island, the Martinique is topped with bananas flambeed in dark rum, brown sugar, and butter, then served with ice cream and whipped cream. The warm caramelized bananas against the cold ice cream are the reason people come back for it. The same banana flambe also appears on our dessert menu as a crepe.

The Napoleon Waffle

Fresh strawberries, creme brulee custard, and whipped cream. The custard is rich and smooth, so this waffle is a good one to share at the table alongside a savory dish.

When to come

Waffles are part of our breakfast menu, which is served until 3pm every day we are open. We are open Tuesday from 9:30am to 3pm and Wednesday through Sunday from 9:30am to 8pm. The full list of omelets, crepes, and sides is on our breakfast menu.
